This Privacy Policy explains how Fermentation Lab ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to ensuring your privacy is protected while you track your artisanal batches.

1. Information We Collect (Account Data)

We collect your email address and basic profile information via Google/Apple Authentication. This data is used exclusively to create your account and securely sync your fermentation recipes and logs to our cloud database (Firebase).

2. Device Permissions & Hardware

To provide core features, the app requests the following device permissions:

• Bluetooth: Used only to connect locally to external temperature and humidity sensors (e.g., Inkbird devices) to monitor your batches. We do not track other Bluetooth devices or collect external background data.
• Location Services: Used optionally for the "Exchange Map" feature, allowing users to find nearby enthusiasts to exchange fermentation starters (e.g., SCOBY, sourdough). Your continuous location is not tracked in the background.
• Camera & Photos: Used to scan QR codes for quick recipe sharing and to let you attach progression photos to your fermentation logs.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party marketing companies.

4. Account Deletion

You have the right to delete your account and all associated fermentation data at any time directly from the app settings, or by contacting us.
